Meet our new Catchy Girl..

Hello friends! Hope you are enjoying our current Glitterify Challenge. I'm so happy to see so many new crafters taking part in Catchy Challenges. Well..  I'm so excited to share that we have a new addition to our 'Catchy Girls Team'. She is Deepti Malik. I just love her work a lot. Kindly visit her blog Dee's Art Utopia and leave some love.. :)

Now, over to Deepti..

Firstly, I would like to thank Deepti Stephens for giving me this opportunity to be on the Design Team of Catchy Challenges.
My name is Deepti and I was born in Lucknow, India. I grew up in a small Hindu family with my loving parents and caring elder brother , did my Masters in Science followed by MBA, worked for about 5 years and then moved to Cleveland, USA after marrying Vikas. My husband is a wonderful supporter, admirer and critic of my work.

As far as my creative side is concerned... I have always had this creative knack and now since I am a home maker and have loads of time, I am exploring and expanding my creativity everyday and in every way ;). I loved sketching and painting from my childhood but paper crafting is a newly acquired passion. All thanks to the wonderful world of blogs which I recently joined from January 2013. My card making style is Clean & Simple (CAS) and what makes me unique... I guess is the fact that I incorporate my own hand drawn elements in my creations. Hope you will enjoy and be inspired by my work :)

Thank you Deepti for this opportunity :)

Hugs
Deepti

Here is her gorgeous creation.. :)

Very festive and beautiful..

Thank you so much Deepti for joining our team. Guys! Kindly do take part in the current challenge and have fun :)

A 'Charm'ing Sketch Card from Itsy Bitsy

Hi folks, it's Sunehra here with another Itsy Bitsy inspiration for Catchy Challenges. The theme this time is A 'Charm'ing Sketch. Challenge creator Deepti put together this fabulous sketch and we're required to create a card using the sketch and adding a charm somewhere in the project. I just LOVE the sketch and I love charms too so this was a cakewalk for me. So without delay, here's what I came up with and just below that is the sketch!

I started by layering 3 white cards one on top of the other,  a style that master crafter Erum does in most of her projects so splendidly! I embossed the top half of the top layer with the Itsy Bitsy Damask folder and for the rest of the card, I used the Sew Ribbon tool to lace these fabulous crochet ribbon trims from Itsy Bitsy. Don't you think that the ribbon lacing was perfect to match the lines at the bottom of the sketch? For the shape at the top, I used an Itsy Bitsy Antique Fusion bloom with some Gardenia leaves and I gotta say I was thrilled that the colours were so complementary.

Finally for the charm, I created this full bow out of some pink organza ribbon and right at the centre I added a scissor charm. I first got this idea from one of Starr Timmons's project at the Shabby Tea Room. I loved the idea of a scissor charm and was so kicked that Itsy Bitsy had them!

Well that wraps up this post. I hope my card inspires you to enter the challenge and looking forward to your comments and feedback on this blog.

Cheers!

A CHARMing Challenge

A very Good Morning to you all.
This is Tanvi here to announce the challenge for this month. Thank you so much ladies for adding color to our   rainbow challenge......................we had 33 entries each with a unique VIBGYOR background!!
This month we have a very easy peasy challenge - make a CARD using the sketch by our talented DT Deepti..............but as always being a catchy challenge we have a slight twist here...............you must include a charm in the sketch so we DTs call this a "CHARM"ING SKETCH. :-).

Here go the inspirations from our catchy girls.

First we have Deepti's card with the charm dangling under the gorgeous tulle bow.

The beautiful bloom co-ordinates so well with the pattern paper Poornima has used.

This is Smita's awesome inspiration with a handmade charm. Lovely isn't it?

Awww!! I love the use of that zip slider in Megha's card.................what an idea madamjee. ;-)

And finally...................this is my card.

Here are some guidelines to help you -
1. Create a new CARD using the sketch given.
2. Please, please follow the challenge theme to QUALIFY your entry.
If in doubt please do not hesitate to write to us for clarifications.

Two random winners will be selected & they will receive Rs.500/- gift vouchers from our sponsor ITSY BITSY. Top 3 will be earn a badge to flaunt on their blogs.

Buttons, Buttons and More Buttons!

Hi everyone, this is Sunehra again with another Itsy Bitsy inspiration for this month's theme here at Catchy Challenges. The guideline is to create a card using the colours of the rainbow while at the same time ensuring that there is no rainbow anywhere in the card. Now I'm not a big fan of multiple colours on a card so I really did have to rack my brains to come up with something. And then I noticed right in front of me, my button pouches from Itsy Bitsy. I have 3 of them and between them, I had all 7 colours of a rainbow so Presto! My card was ready!!

I started with a base of red card stock and then glued on some white card stock with dimensional tape. After that I used my multi coloured buttons to create the graduated design you see on the card. I finished it off with some bakers twine which is also new at Itsy Bitsy

I also made a matching envelope for my card. I took a regular envelope and cut off its flap. Then I created my own flap using some red punch paper to match the card base. At the bottom I added a border of VIBGYOR coloured buttons. Cute isn't it.

I gave this card to my father-in-law for Fathers Day and he was quite floored. It was fun to do and at the end I think this challenge is going to be a blast. All the best folks!
