Introducing Our New DT Member - Somdeepa Das

Hello dear friends! This is Deepti Stephens here introducing our one of the most talented girl,

I love her card making style a lot. SO trendy!

A little bit about Somdeepa

Hi everybody, this is Somdeepa Das here from Kolkata. I have just begun my college life and I am an Economics student of Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
I have been crafty since childhood but I have started blogging about it recently and am enthralled with the crafter's community in blogland. I love the CAS style of card making. As I own only some very basic craft supplies, I continually make do with stuff I find around me. Thus you will often find fake calligraphy in my cards instead of sentiment stamps! I try to create whatever captures my imagination but I enjoy making cards the most.
I am very proud to be a part of the wonderful DT here at Create Something Catchy Challenges. I look forward to a period of sharing and hopefully inspiring some of you with my creations!

And here is her card for the current challenge

Oh wow! Look how beautifully she arranged the pps.. Awesome!  <3 So glad to have you on the team!

Ok then.. see you soon guys! Take care.. :)

Hello friends!
This is Tanvi wishing you all a very good Saturday morning.
We have some very talented ladies joining our team & I take pleasure in introducing our newest teamie   - Shylaashree - the master quiller.
Welcome & congratulations!

Over to Shylaashree -

I am so excited to be a part of CSCC Design team! Thanks to you for giving me this opportunity.

I am Shylaashree from Adhiraacreations, mother of two awesome kids and working as an Executive secretary in Titan Company Limited.
Ever since I was a little girl I have found great joy in creating cards, books, and 3-D projects with paper. During a period of ill health I found the art of quilling to be very therapeutic. Since then I have become totally hooked on to quilling. My core strength is jewellery designing (was a designer sometime for Tanishq & Goldplus) /making and wall decors.  I look forward to working with the other DT members. I feel that being part of this team will be a challenge and yet I hope that my work challenges those who participate.

We are so glad to have you on board ! And here is the inspiration for this months challenge -

Please do join us again tomorrow for more inspiration from another new DT member.

Hey Paper#2

Happy Sunday to all you lovely ladies.
This is Tanvi here with the second post in our series HEY PAPER. Today we have a very versatile crafter Deepthi Udapa joining us.

Lets hear it from her -

·         Tell us a little about yourself
Hi there!!! I am Deepthi Udupa. I am an artist, crafter, mom, student, teacher and occasionally singer and baker and many other things J. Currently I am living in Mumbai and studying art from Mysore.  I blog at dipti-myart.blogspot.in and have a page on facebook called Vibgyor N More.

·         Tell us something about the kind of work you do.
I am more into drawing and painting than crafts. I do charcoal painting, doodle, drawing, and painting.  I love paper crafts too. Though I have done quilling, paper cutting, card making, and decoupage, I love paper quilling the most in crafts.

·         How and when did you start crafting?
After my high school I started drawing with pencils and the interest in art grew. But it was just a hobby for me till a few years ago when this hobby became a passion.  Earlier I used to blog only about my artwork. Four years ago I accidentally stumbled upon the blog All things Paper and I got hooked on to quilling. Since then I started doing paper crafts.

·         What is your favorite crafting?
Quilling is my favorite in crafting. I love recycling.  And in paintings, watercolors are my favorite medium right now.

·         What is the one skill that you wish to excel in?
I cannot name just one thing in which I want to be good at. I want to be excellent in all the things I do. Life is too short to just concentrate on one thing, so I want to learn and do everything and be good at it too. Currently I am trying to improve my watercolor skills and portrait quilling.

·         Name five things without which your craft space is incomplete?
Naming just five things is very very difficult ……. Yet if I have to name just a few, it would be my paint supply,  papers,  quilling strips , glue, tools like scissors and …… oh is it already five things!!!?

·         What inspires you to create a project?
Anything and everything inspires me when it comes to art and craft. The smallest ant to the big buildings, my daughter, everything inspires me.

·         What do you do when you are not creating?
I like learning new things. So when I am not creating, currently I am learning guitar, classical music and I experiment with baking and occasionally take baking classes.  I am also doing my Bachelors degree in Fine arts currently and so busy with assignments and exams. Next I would like to learn photography.

·         Are there any artists/crafters that you look up to? How do they inspire you?
Oh!!!!  There are soo many artists and crafters that I admire!!  Yulia for quilling. And when it comes to paintings, there are too many artists to name here. There is too much creativity in soo many artists that each and everyone is an inspiration to

Please give a word of advice to our readers?
Do whatever you want to do and be whatever you want to be. Life is very short to have regrets.

Do visit her blog to see more of her work & leave her some love. Thank you so much Deepthi for joining us today.
We will be back with another crafter soon until then happy crafting & hope you join our current challenge.

T Time #5 - Spotlight Stamping Technique..

Hello dear friends! Hope you all had a great Monday.. :) This is Deepti S here, well.. from on-wards I would like to address myself as 'Catchy Design Deepti'.. so how's my new name? Sounds funny? LOL.. :D

Anyway back to the business now.. I made two cards using a stamping technique called
SPOTLIGHT STAMPING TECHNIQUE. And it's really cool one. I've never tried this technique before but after trying it was like WOW! should make more cards using this tech.. :)

For the first card you'll need
1. Cardstocks
2. Two different colors of ink + black ink
3. Any stamps
4. Compass/Circular die

First stamp the image in versafine black/any black in on the white/color card stock.

Now stamp the same image in different colors on to the other piece of CS..

Now select a few interesting points in the image and draw a circle using compass..

Then cut them out and adhere them using foam tape on to the first stamped image..

And that's it add a sentiment and give some details..

Now here is the second one!

Stamp a sentiment on the cs..

Stamp the sentiment again with different colors of inks..

Now punch out a few hearts where you find the image is little bit interesting!

Now adhere them on to the piece of previously stamped image..

And that's it our second card is also ready!

Hope you like this tutorial and hope you would give it a try..
Thanks so much for stopping by and forget to join the POP UP fun.. ;)

Meet our July Guest Designer - Juhi K

Hello friends!! I am super excited to introduce to you our July Guest Designer, Juhi KI am sure you will love her awesome pop up card. So let's welcome her...

Hi, this is Juhi from Juhi’s Handmade Cards and I am super excited to be Guest Designing here at Catchy Challenges. I have been a passionate paper crafter for almost 5 years now. I say passionate because every spare minute I get (which is not much as I work full time at a semiconductor MNC in Bangalore and have a 2.5 yr old daughter) goes into crafting…which also means my home is almost always messy and I don’t socialize much ;).
I would describe my style as bright and happy…though I am beginning to try vintage now…..you can see a bit of both in the card I created for this month’s challenge. I hope you like and find inspiration from my cake pop-up card. It folds flat, an excellent tutorial on how to make this can be found here

Wow!! isn't this an amazing pop up, that cake looks yummy :) Thank you so much Juhi for joining us and now my dear friends what are you waiting for take all your crafty things out and join in the fun at CSCC #5
